Signature of Muncie Enjoys Derby Day with Pony Visits

The Signature of Muncie family enjoyed live pony visits at our facility to help celebrate Derby Day. The residents’ faces lit up and many reminisced on their days of living on a farm and having horses or ponies of their own.

The day ended with our own version of a Derby race, with horse #1, Exciteable (NP Lisa Harber) and resident jockey Fredrick Stanley as the winners! Surely this day will be one etched in the memories of those involved for years to come!

CNA Olympics

Signature HealthCARE hosted its 2nd Annual CNA Olympics on October 29, 2015, in Muncie, In. Participating olympians represented Signature HealthCARE of Bluffton, Signature HealthCARE of Bremen, Signature HealthCARE of Fort Wayne, Signature HealthCARE of Muncie, Signature HealthCARE of Parkwood, and Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute.

The inaugural CNA Olympics were planned by SHC of Parkwood’s DON, Amy Buckley, who hosted our event last year. It was such a huge success that it was held once again.

This year’s events included Bed Making, Wearing Isolation Precautions Equipment, a Sacred Six Quiz, Wheelchair Assembly and Disassembly, TED Hose Application, and a Mystery Event which ended up as Filling Water Cups.

The Team Relay Event included dressing a mannequin, making a bed with a mannequin in the bed, assembling and disassembling a wheelchair, and reciting all of the Sacred Six Value names.

Many thanks to Ben Wells, Haley Arnett, and SHC of Muncie for hosting it this year. Congratulations to all of our participants! What a great way to showcase our Urban Indiana CNAs!
